Web Design

The price for a web site can vary greatly, depending on your wishes and the amount of web pages made. Nonetheless, we have fixed prices for custom work. Any other wishes, costs will depend on what it is exactly that you wish and the amount of work involved.

Our method:

CHOOSING A TYPE OF WEBSITE

We set up a meeting and first of all find out what type of website would be suitable.
The following questions would apply:

  • Do you wish to maintain the basic contents yourself or not?
  • Would contents be changed a lot or not?
  • Would like add-ons. I.e.:  Guestbook, Photo Gallery, Event Calendar, Rotating/Slideshow Header, A Blog, an Online Shop, Etc.?
  • How many web pages would be needed?

In some cases your budget might be of importance. The best option may not always be possible. If this is the case we will try to advise you on alternative options.

DOMAIN NAME(S)

We will discuss the preferred Domain Name(s). In the case you already have a domain name, we will discuss the transfer of this Domain Name to us as it is our policy not to develop websites on domains hosted by others for the following reasons:

  • We cannot provide a good service if we cannot manage the domains and hosting ourselves.
  • If you stay with another hosting company they will keep access to your website in which case we cannot be held responsible if they decide to go into it
  • If your website goes offline for any reason, we would not be able to provide assistance in getting it back up and running

DESIGN

During this meeting we also try to find out what the design must look like.

  • We will ask you if you have any specific ideas as to colours and the look and feel of your new website
  • If you have a logo, we will ask you for it, preferably in digital format. We take in account the colour(s) in your logo to match the design of the website
  • We will ask you if you have seen certain websites that appeal to you, please have the addresses of those websites with you or send them to us. If you have any we can determine what look and feel appeals to you.
  • We will determine the purpose of your website and the targeted age group of visitors
  • We will try to determine the amount of text for each page. If large amounts are needed, the design needs to take up less space. In the case of minimal amount of text we can enlarge the amount of space for the design.

QUOTATION

After the meeting we will have a fair idea of work involved and we will send a quotation out to you. This quotation needs to be filled out and signed and returned to us, along with a non-refundable deposit. The height of this deposit amount depends on the type of website. 

START WORK

Once we have received the signed copy of the quotation and the deposit, we will start work. For us to be able to start work we will need the following:

  • Your company logo if you have one, digital format and preferable larger sized.
  • Large sized photos that we might be able to use in the design itself. If you don’t have any we always have the option to buy photos online that would be suitable.

WEBSITE CONTENT

While we are working on the design we always advise our clients to start working on content. We usually ask to deliver it to us the following way:

  • In digital format. I.e. In the programme Word or Notepad or similar, or typed in an email. This so we can copy and paste the text and do not need to retype all. This saves time and prevents the possibility of making type errors.
  • Text divided up into chapters. The title/header being the name of the menu button. I.e. like we have done on this page.
  • When wanting to add photos in between the text, please make sure it is absolutely clear to us which photo you want to go where. Either list the names of the photos you wish added within the chapter – with or without a description, or name the photo after the chapter i.e. aboutus-01, aboutus-02, etc.
    You can choose to either email us the photos or send them out to us in the post on a CD or memory stick.
    TIP: please make sure photos or images used are bright and glossy. If photos are gloomy then chances are your site will start to look gloomy too. We can always advise you on a good photographer if you wish.

DRAFT DESIGN

Once we are happy with what we have done, we will show you a draft of the design. Usually this would be an image of what your website might look like.
Once you approve and are sure you do not wish to make any changes on it, we will start with the actual development of the website. We will cut up the design and develop it into a real functioning site. When we start this procedure it will not be possible to change things in the design.
If you do not approve of the design we will go back to the drawing board. Our price for a website contains a maximum of 3 designs in the case you are not satisfied.
If you do approve of the design but would like to make some smaller changes we will work on those till you are completely satisfied.

DEVELOPMENT

Once the design is cut up into pieces and developed into an actual website with working menu buttons, we would need to have received all content to put in. To prevent delays you would have to have that ready for us when we come to this stage.

LAUNCH

Once all content is put in and you agree to launch, our work is officially finished. Any work done after launch is considered maintenance unless otherwise agreed upon.
When your website is launched we send out the invoice. When that is paid in full we send you the login details of your website in the case you have ordered a Dynamic Website with CMS (Content Management System), so you can maintain the basic content of the website yourself.


Prices

What you always need for a website are the following:

  • Domain Name – please check out the Domain Names page for prices
  • Hosting Package – please check out the Hosting Packages page for prices

The Domain Name is the Address (street name) of your website. The hosting is the space needed to put the website files on (the plot of land). , Which Hosting Package you'll need depends on the type of website. Both the Domain Name and the Hosting are charged annually.

The cost for the design and development of the website is extremely difficult to give up front without the process of the meeting and the quotation. But an indication might be the following:

  • A simple one page Website/Placeholder – starts at  € 270 + VAT
  • A Basic Website  – design and text, limited amount of web pages,no Add-ons  – starts at € 650 + VAT
  • A Dynamic Website  – design, text and CMS, Add-ons optional  – starts at € 1000 + VAT
    With this website you can maintain the basic content yourself and here you have the option to integrate Add-ons, which are each priced additionally. With Add-ons we mean i.e. Guestbook, Calendars, Google Maps, custom built Contact Forms, Photo Albums, Booking Forms, etc. 

Time lapse

On average the time needed to develop a website - from moment of meeting until actual launch of the website - usually takes between 6 and 8 weeks in total. However, delays can occur if i.e.:

  • Design is repeatedly disapproved
  • Contents is not provided to us in time
